It was only two years ago that I took a trip to Spain. I am definitely looking forward to going back. I learned a lot from the first trip that I will be able to use in the next adventure to Spain. When I was planning my first trip, I didn't have a lot of s-Spain travel information. I never did talk to a Spain travel agent. I knew I didn't want a Spain travel package because I like to do the less "touristy" type of travel. I knew I wanted to go to Barcelona. So, I did a little bit of research and thought I had a decent plan.
When I got there, I realized it was a holiday in Barcelona, and the entire city was practically shut down! So I changed my mind, and simply took a train to the next town that called to me. I ended up in a little city off the northern coast. It was gorgeous! I stayed for quite a few days, and it was my favorite part of the trip.
The next time I go to Spain, I would like to talk to a Spain travel agent so I feel more informed on the options I have, but yet I do not want the trip to be so structured that I can't make sudden stops and new discoveries on my own.
